The Gera School Achieves 100% IGCSE Results; Excels Across Checkpoint Examinations with Outstanding Academic Performance

The Gera School celebrates exceptional Cambridge IGCSE and Checkpoint examination results, with 100% pass performance and outstanding achievements across academic disciplines.

Goa, May 22, 2026: The Gera School has announced another year of exceptional academic outcomes in the Cambridge IGCSE examinations, achieving a 100% pass result for its fourth graduating batch.

In a significant milestone, every student eligible for the internationally recognized Cambridge ICE (International Certificate of Education) award successfully achieved the certification, reflecting academic excellence across a broad range of disciplines. The ICE award requires students to study subjects across languages, humanities, sciences, mathematics and creative or vocational disciplines, reinforcing holistic and balanced academic development.

The school also recorded a substantial rise in high academic achievement:

  • 79 A* and A grades were secured by students this year, marking a 17% increase over last year’s tally.
  • 20 out of 22 eligible students achieved either Distinction or Merit certifications from Cambridge.
  • 55 B grades were also achieved, reflecting a strong overall cohort performance.
  • Of the Distinction holders, Ian Godinho got A* in all 8 subjects. Joshua Fernandes and Taksh Parekh got 7 A* and 1 A. Hannah Vales and Neel Patil got 5 A* and 3 A’s.

In addition to the IGCSE achievements, The Gera School also delivered exceptional results in the Primary and Lower Secondary Checkpoint examinations, further reinforcing the school’s strong academic foundation across all levels.

In the Grade 5 Primary Checkpoint results, 40 students were registered, with the school outperforming the international average in all three subjects. The school achieved an average score of 34 in English against the international average of 32, 33 in Mathematics against 30 internationally, and 35 in Science compared to the international average of 31. Notably, 73% of the 120 grades awarded were either High or Outstanding. Chloe Alemao and Avner Lopes emerged as the top performers in the Primary Checkpoint examination.

The Grade 8 Lower Secondary Checkpoint results also reflected strong academic excellence. A total of 42 students appeared for the examinations, with the school again surpassing the international average across all subjects. The school recorded an average score of 39 in English against the international average of 35, 35 in Mathematics against 33 internationally, and 37 in Science compared to the international average of 33. Of the 126 grades awarded, an impressive 81% were High or Outstanding. Tanvi Varddhman and Kiara Jhunjhunwala achieved full marks in all three subjects, while Praveena Rane, Annika Kuttan and Ryle Frank secured full marks in two out of three subjects.

The results reinforce the school’s commitment to combining academic rigour with individual attention and all-round student development.

The Principal, Mr. Carol Joseph, said, “We are extremely proud of our students and teachers for this outstanding achievement. Beyond the grades themselves, what is particularly gratifying is the breadth and consistency of performance across the cohort. The fact that all eligible students earned the ICE certification reflects the school’s emphasis on developing well-rounded learners with strong academic foundations across disciplines. The excellent Checkpoint results at both the Primary and Lower Secondary levels further validate the strength of our academic framework and the commitment of our educators towards nurturing students from the foundational years onward. These outcomes are the result of sustained effort, committed educators, supportive parents and students who have approached learning with seriousness and balance.”

Mr. Rohit Gera, Managing Director, Gera Developments, said, “At The Gera School, we believe education must prepare children not only to perform well in examinations, but also to thrive in an increasingly complex and global world. These results reflect a culture of high standards, individual attention and continual improvement. We are particularly encouraged by the consistency of outcomes and the broad-based excellence demonstrated by the students. Our objective is not to create pressure-driven academic success, but confident, capable and well-rounded young individuals prepared for the future. The strong Checkpoint performance demonstrates that this philosophy is being embedded early in a child’s academic journey, creating a solid platform for future success.”

The school also acknowledged the contribution of its teaching and administrative teams across Primary, Lower Secondary and IGCSE levels, whose efforts played a key role in the students’ achievements.

The school stated that a detailed academic analysis will be conducted over the coming weeks to identify further opportunities for improvement and continued enhancement of learning outcomes.
