Ash Barty, a former world champion, announces the birth of her child

<p>Ash Barty, a former tennis champion, made the birth of her first child official on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The former No. 1 player, who retired a little more than 15 months ago, made the news of her son’s birth public on social media.</p>

“Our beautiful kid. The Australian posted a picture of the infant on Instagram along with the message, “Welcome to the world, Hayden.</p>
<p>Just two months after winning the 2022 Australian Open, the three-time Grand Slam winner who spent more than two years at the top of the rankings retired at the age of 25.</p>
<p>Barty won the French Open in 2019 and Wimbledon two years ago.</p>
