Korea Zinc and LG Chem collaborate on commercial prospects in the US recycling industry

<p>Leading nonferrous metal processing company in South Korea, Korea Zinc, said on Friday that it has teamed up with chemical manufacturer LG Chem Ltd to explore commercial prospects in the US market for recycled old plastics.</p>

<p>According to a statement from the firm, Korea Zinc and LG Chem inked a memorandum of understanding to secure used plastics recycling projects in the US based on their respective e-waste processing and used plastics recycling capabilities.</p>
<p>Through its American subsidiary Pedalpoint Holdings, Korea Zinc purchased a whole interest in the American e-waste recycling company IGNEO Holdings in 2022, according to the Yonhap news agency.</p>
<p>According to the statement, Korea Zinc is growing its operations in the United States to recycle abandoned solar panels, old automobile batteries, and e-waste.</p>
